Meet Dr. Ballem

Dr. Ballem was born and raised in BC but her education has taken her all over North America. She completed her residency training at Maine Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency in June 2020 after which she decided it was time to move back to Vancouver to be closer to family.

Prior to opening this practice Dr. Ballem enjoyed a very diverse mix of work including flying to remote communities in the Northwest Territories and working in the hospital caring for hospitalized patients. While she enjoyed these challenges she missed the longitudinal relationships so integral in family medicine and she is looking forward to building her ideal medical practice in Vancouver.

Dr. Ballem has a special interest in women's health but enjoys all aspects of family medicine. She thinks spending time educating patients is the key to empowering people to take control of their health.

When not practicing medicine Dr. Ballem enjoys many creative pursuits. She loves travelling and one of her favourite travel activities is taking cooking classes. She finds time to recharge by spending time with her family and getting outside whenever she can.
